BOOKS:

- Walt's People
A casual series of interviews that give you an insight as to how the old Disney guys worked together, and sometimes against each other.

- Disney's Nine Old Men and the art of animation
A brilliant book on animation; this tells you about the top animators who worked on all the classic Disney films. It doesn't pull any punches in explaining the complicated working relationships and egos that all went to set such excellent standards for Disney.

- The Illusion of Life
The original bible for animators.

- The Art of Animal Drawing
(construction, Action Analysis, Caricature)

- Rendering in Pen and Ink: The Classic Book on Pen and Ink Techniques for Artists, Illustrators, Architects, and Designers

-AKIRA
An astounding level of detail which paints a broad and sweeping brushstroak of future humanity. Character, action and some beautiful drawings makes this a landmark graphic novel.

-BONE

-DARK MATERIALS TRILOGY
A childrens adventure which takes the wizardry out of Harry Potter and replaces it with science and religion. Ambitious stuff.

FILMS:

-My Neighbour Totoro
From studio Ghibli in Japan - this is probably their most loved film.

-Porco Rosa (Crimson Pig)
Another Studio Ghibli film - and probably one of my favourite; this is about a daring Red Baron fighter pilot, who happens to be a pig.
